Transcription: My device consisted of a large cog attached to a simple water wheel by a series of gears and shafts. All a villager had to do was step onto the continuously rotating cog and step off again when level with a convenient upstairs window. Although the villagers refused to use the device, it had the welcome side effect of making the stairs seem far less intimidating. I have since rehoused the redundant machine in my great work. Here is Its continuous rotation carries the mighty balls from one level of the playing field to another.
